discuss a unified effort to persuade state lawmakers to pass both the stadium and the convention center expansion. all of the companies voted for the stadium plan on the infrastructure committee, but only sheldon adelson has really been pushing it and the rest have been very passive. unlike adelson, who has derided the convention center plan, the rest like that project. after this meeting, they are projects and hoping to shift the focus off adelson. ----that's why former las vegas mayor jan jones, a caesars executive, was tapped as the spokeswoman for the new effort. jones is a seasoned pr professional who once sold cars for a living. she is good with the media, good on camera, good at selling. ----the real story here is neither side has the votes for
